Runner Z
My game development course was designed to introduce younger students to programming and design without becoming too complicated. Fostering fun and creativity was the primary objective and the utilization of other computer software helped students with multitasking activities such as; drawing, sound recording, sound implementation and sprite animation.
After a few introductory classes where we made Pong and a game where students crush fruit by tapping on it with their mouse we began working on Runner Z.
I created this project based off Megaman X on SNES because I wanted student to learn 2D game creation which involves all the tasks required to make a game but without having to worry about programming in 3 dimensions.
Star Wars Galaxy Battle
Our second project was a top down, spaceship, scroller.
Here students learned how to place obstacles along a screen and create the illusion of a moving character while in reality the entire level scrolls down screen.
